Workshop Service Guide and Policy
We use a Non Fixed Price Servicing policy to ensure you only get charged for the time we spend working on your bike and not over charged with a set price/pre determined repair package. We want to tailor your repair to be as effective as possible. We would appreciate you taking the time to look over the bike with us when booking it in to ensure the best result.
All Mechanical repairs $84 per hour plus parts (Non Fixed Price Servicing)
(min labour charge $8.40)
Safety / Quick Check Over 0.5 hrs minimum
Minor true wheels in frame. Lubrication of chain and cables. Minor brake and gear alignment just to get safe. Inflate Tyres. Check all nuts and bolts are tight. Safety inspection of bike with test ride. We will inform you of any parts on the bike that may require immediate attention or that may need overhauling soon.
General Service 1 hr est. minimum
This is our most common servicing option. Includes all items covered in Safety / Quick Check Over plus: proper wheel truing in truing stand and lubrication of spoke nipple interfaces. Replacement of cables and casings if required. Alignment of derailleur hanger if required. Spray on Lubrication of fork and shock seals (TF2). Adjustment of all bearing loads on bike. Please feel free to add any other servicing requests to this. E.g. drive-train solvent bath and for service etc.
Full Service / Race Service 3 hrs est. minimum
Complete strip and rebuild of Bike and all its components. This will of course include all the elements of the Safety / Quick Check Over and General Service along with cleaning and re-greasing all bearing interfaces, all cables and casings replaced, hydraulic brakes bled. We will go over your bike and discuss how we can get it running at its best. Customise this service to suit your bike and requirements.
Shock Servicing 0.5 hrs minimum
Most Fox air shocks from a basic maintenance perspective can be serviced in house, for more comprehensive work some shocks are sent away to respective distributors and charged according to work required.
Fork Servicing 1 hr minimum
Complete overhaul of your fork, from oil and seal replacement to replacing broken and/or worn internals
Wheel Builds 1 hr minimum
We provide wheel building for ROAD, BMX and MTB wheels using your choice of hub, rims and spokes. We pride ourselves in building some of the best wheels in the industry.
Custom Manufacturing $100 per hour plus materials
At Bike addiction, we have the ability to bring your bike back from the brink of an untimely death. Whether it’s your bike, an accessory, or custom made anything - we can manufacture, fix, or modify just about anything.
Frame repair - Carbon fibre, Chromoly / steel, Alloy, and Titanium.
Re-spray - Includes stripping of paint, frame/fork prep, and re-spray
Decals - Design your own stickers for a custom finished frame or accessory.
Manufacturing - Linkage plates, brake mounts, rack fittings, custom tools, etc. This service goes beyond just bike parts. If you have any custom manufacturing request, we are more than happy to accommodate.
Here at Bike Addiction we take pride in our work and our word. We do our utmost to ensure your repair is completed to the best possible standard. We value you as our client and thank you for putting your trust in us with your equipment. Here are a few notes to help you understand how we operate and what we offer.
Firstly we book in repairs on a first in first served basis so there’s no favourites - if you’re organised you’ll have no problem. We only take on what we know we can do each week to try to ensure we are on time and do a great job, so if we tell you we are full we mean it. Full usually means that 80-100 other cyclists have booked in before you and, as you’d expect, they’re not going to be happy if you try to jump the queue.
When dropping your bike in for servicing we’ll give it a thorough inspection so that we can discuss all issues and items that need addressing. Upon this we can give you an estimate. Although all efforts will go into getting this as accurate as possible, if we discover anything noteworthy not picked up when booking your repair in or if one of our mechanics believes you have been misquoted to any degree we will call to discuss it with you before we proceed. Please try to be contactable or return our call promptly. If a reason arises where we cannot complete a repair because we need further consent from the client, the repair will be put on hold until we hear from you.
You will be called when your repair is completed. If you have not heard from us for any reason and are wondering if your repair is ready please call and quote your job number for confirmation before making the trip to see us - we do like to see you but don’t like to disappoint you. We will always try to get repairs done on time to get you back out there as promised but we won’t rush something and compromise on quality just to meet a deadline. We ask that all work is to be picked up within 2 weeks of being called or a $50.00 storage fee will be charged per week.
